I’m so honored for my inclusion in Karen’s most recent project "Bourbon Belles & Whiskey Women" and can’t wait for readers to learn more about the amazing women that live and breathe whiskey. You’ll soon learn it’s not all Jims, Jacks and Johnnies, but an army of women who can run with the boys. 

NEWS!  WhistlePig recently released North America’s first super-aged Single Malt: WhistlePig 21 Single Malt Whiskey called The Béhôlden. This new offering is filled with rich maple and dried fruit notes added to a bready, nutty base and finished with the pig de résistance – a bold finish in a WhistlePig Rye barrel.  I hope you love it as much as we do!

Now as we embark on summer sipping, I’m excited to share that WhistlePig Whiskey has a few exciting partnerships and launches planned for this season.  More to come on that later! 

SUMMERTIME IS HERE!  Although many don’t think of whiskey as a summer spirit, we’re here to prove your tastebuds wrong. Check out the recipe below for summer cocktail inspiration with one of my favorite spirits for cocktail mixing: PiggyBack 100% Rye Whiskey!

- MEGHAN IRELAND, Head Blender at WhistlePig Whiskey

Recipe: PIG VIPER, by Erick Castro

Ingredients: 

  • 2.0 oz WhistlePig PiggyBack 100% Rye Whiskey
  • .75 oz Lime Juice
  • .75 oz Grapefruit Juice
  • .50 oz WhistlePig Barrel Aged Maple Syrup,
               (Just awarded a winner of the Good Food Awards)
  • .50 oz Falernum
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters 

Place all ingredients in an ice filled shaker and shake until well chilled.  Strain into a Collins glass over fresh cracked ice and garnish with an expressed grapefruit twist and a sprig of mint.
